Safe hunting tips

All of us love relic hunting, so it is important that we protect our hobby. Consider these important tips:

1. Never trespass a territory or property. Always get permission first before you hunt a location if it has a 'no trespassing sign' or other posted information.

2. Always cover your holes. Never dig a hole and leave it without covering it over with soil or/and leaves.

3. Always be polite when talking to the land owner. Always leave a good impression on them.

4. It is safe to bring less than 3 individuals to a hunting location. Some land owners, but not all, do not like to see a large group of people traveling their property. If you have permission, their is nothing to worry about.

5. Be careful not to leave tire tracks or 4-wheeler tracks on the land.

6. Never hunt a park or another governmental property, as you may face fines and imprisonment.

It is important to follow rules when relic hunting, some relic hunters have ruined the hobby for others by not leaving a good impression on land owners.

Other safety tips include: Be careful when hunting during deer season, and if you do, wear bright colored clothes. Try to carry a cell phone with you, if possible, in case of emergencies.
