What is the sensitivity control?

The sensitivity controls the smoothness of the detector in various hunting conditions, you can increase or decrease the sensitivity. Some areas may have more trash than other locations. So if the hunting location is more trashy, you may find it useful to decrease the sensitivity control. You can also think of sensitivity as a noise filter. Normally, hunting around power lines and electric fences (ect.) would create interference for the detector. This control allows you to filter through interferences by decreasing the sensitivity of the detector. It is important to note that decreasing the sensitivity (too much) would result in a 1-3 inch loss of hunting depth. Typically 5-5 1/2 is a good setting.
